Social Media News Alert: Instagram is testing removing "feed content" sharing to your stories!🤭

On Instagram last week they were testing the removal of post sharing to your story for some users. Many people have a lot of emotions about Instagram doing this because this is one of the features that allows Instagram to be so conversational and communal.
What I am thinking about, is that the sharing feed post feature allows for companies, brands, and people to interact. It is also a form of earned marketing on social media and it allows for brands to get more awareness within diverse audiences. This feature also allows people to build off of one's original content. But there's more to think about than this.
As Andrew Hutchinson mentioned on Social Media Today, the "impetus for this change [is] to prompt users to create content specifically dedicated to each stream." Instagram has seen a surge of content coming from other platforms like TikTok and even Twitter, and their goal is to increase original IG content. And they want this content to be original on each section like Stories, Reels, IGTV, and Feed.
As a social media marketing agency, it is important to be up to date with occurrences on important apps like Instagram because it allows me to keep an eye open to changes or opportunities that would affect my marketing goals/ strategies. And we know that Instagram does these tests in order to adjust the ever-changing user experience, because they want you creating meaningful content just as much as you do- hence why they have been creating more and more content opportunities on Instagram.
Overall, it seems like this test has a few pros and cons, and many people love stories but it does seem that with shares the time span that people focus on your stories has been decreasing and as you can imagine Instagram does not want that. Features such as IGTV and Reels, especially, have become a huge opportunity for users to further expand their reach and awareness and really build content that followers would like.
If I were you I would keep an eye on stories, but also tap into the other amazing features Instagram has been offering. ⭐
Don't be shy just try!🌟
